First 5 Calaveras Seminars and Workshops

First 5 Calaveras offers seminars and workshops on various topics to support parents and guardians in raising children of all ages.  Offered in locations across the county and throughout the year. Visit their website here for more information.  All Strengthening Families Parent Seminars and Workshops are available to Calaveras families with children from birth through 17 years old.  Childcare may be provided for children ages 3-12, dependent upon space availability.
  

Free Counseling Through First 5

Counseling is available at NO Cost to Calaveras County parents who are uninsured or have other insurance barriers.  This program, offered by First 5 Calaveras is for parents who have children ages birth to 17 years of age.  To find out more contact Cristi Canepa at Mind Matters 728-2184, or Joyce Peek at First 5 Calaveras 754-6916.  

 

Grandparent Project Gathering

 

The Grandparent Project - Calaveras County Office of Education

The Grandparent Project provides services to grandparents and other relatives raising children, including families where a parent also lives in the home. The project is sponsored by Calaveras County Behavioral Health and the Calaveras County Office of Education. Click here for more information.
 

Community Advisory Council (CAC) - Parents of Children with Special Needs

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) functions as a liaison between the Calaveras County SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area, i.e.- the Special Education Department) and the community (parents, community members, teachers, and local school districts). They support and provide a network for parents of students with special needs.  For more information click here.
