School Closure Letter from Bill Redford

Dear Mountain Oaks Community,

At 2:30 PM today, Sunday, March 15th, Calaveras County Schools received a recommendation to close all Calaveras County Schools beginning March 16th through April 6th. Please note that this message is an initial communication intended to provide families with as much notice as possible.

More information from Public Health, the County Office of Education and School Administration will follow this letter later this evening and into next week. Please continue to monitor all Mountain Oaks communication channels for additional information. This includes phone messages, social media and the school website.

First, we want to assure we have no confirmed cases or suspected exposure to the virus at Mountain Oaks. Second, we are working with local agencies to take every precaution to ensure we mitigate any exposure.

As a result of the shutdown of schools, ALL in-person school activities, including all workshops, mentor meetings and associated educational services will be canceled through April 6th. This shutdown does not affect our normally scheduled spring break that concludes on April 14th.

More information will be released soon. Thank you for continuing to monitor our communication channels for additional information as we are working to minimize the disruption to school services for our community.

Sincerely,

Bill Redford, Mountain Oaks School Administrator
