Athletics

Mountain Oaks is part of the Mountain Valley League affiliated with CIF. All ninth through twelfth grade students in good academic standing are invited to join a team. Seventh and Eighth graders may "red shirt". Girls volleyball, coed soccer, boys and girls basketball, girls softball, boys baseball and co-ed golf are offered for high school students. To promote well-rounded, physically fit Mountain Oaks students by offering physical activities and competitions as well as social camaraderie in a safe, nurturing environment.

Mountain Oaks School recognizes the goal of developing the whole person. The athletic program is one aspect of a balanced approach in developing the whole person physically, mentally, socially, creatively and emotionally.

The athletic committee recommends that:
• Everyone participates and each student has the opportunity to play.
• Mountain Oaks considers offering sports not available at the community level.
• Individual sports as well as team sports are offered.
• Students need to be committed to the sport as determined by the Athletic Committee.
• Parents form an integral part of the program by offering support, guidance, and direction to their student.

The Athletics Department does regular fundraisers to help out in tough budget times. Your help is greatly appreciated to keep our program running smoothly.

The Mountain Oaks Cookbooks are now available for purchase. Please contact Kathie Ramirez at ext. 2242 to purchase one (or more)! The price is $10.

Our keychains sell for $3.50. They are green and have 'Mountain Oaks School' engraved on them. The dog tags are gold and have "Go Eagles" on one side and the name of the sport and the year on the other (ie - "Volleyball 2010" or "Soccer 2010"). They are $2.00 each, but you can purchase a keychain/dog tag combo for only $5.00. If you did not get a Volleyball or Soccer tag, you're in luck! We only have a few of each left, so if you want one-get it now! We will be taking orders for anyone that would like to purchase a keychain/dog tag combo for Basketball 2010. Remember, if you already have a keychain, you can still order just the dog tag. For more information, or to make a purchase, contact Debbie Blankenship at ext. 2241.

All athletic teams are open to current Mountain Oaks high school students with a 2.0 GPA or better. If you are interested in playing on any of these teams, please contact the Athletic Director at 1-888-686-6257, ext. 2242.

Calaveras River Academy students may join Mountain Oaks students on our CIF athletic teams. All students who participate on the athletic teams will be subject to the same Mountain Oaks and CIF behavior guidelines, and their respective school's academic policies.
