  • Yearbook Orders

It is time to order your 2015-2016 Mountain Oaks Yearbook.  This year's book is a 128 page   hardbound book.  The price is $41.95 or $46.00 if you want to have you name printed on the cover.  Families may order their yearbook at any of the Mountain Oaks sites or online at by clicking the red "Buy Yearbook" button to the left under Quick Links. Please call Samantha at 754-0532, ext. 2258, if you have any questions.

    Yearbook Photos Needed

We have several students working hard on this year's yearbook already.  Due to the fact we only had a Fall Photo Day this year, we are in great need of families submitting their student's photos for the yearbook.  We try very hard every year to get a photo of each student in the yearbook.  These don't need to be professional photos, but your favorite current photo of your child would be appreciated.  You can either bring in a photo that will be scanned or send the photo to with your student's name and grade.

In addition to student photos, we would love to have photos from all of the school events.  You can either bring in your camera cards to the front office and ask them to copy the photos for the yearbook staff or upload them to by clicking the red "Submit Yearbook Photos" button to the left under Quick Links.

It would help the yearbook committee if we could get the  photos submitted as soon as possible, but our deadline is May 22nd.  We will not be able to guarantee that photos will be added after May 22nd.

  • ASVAB for 10th, 11th, & 12th Graders

Here is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to take one of the leading career exploration assessments.  Want to find out what your strengths are?  Want to gather information as to some possible career choices?

Mountain Oaks students have an opportunity to take the ASVAB assessment.  It is proctored by the military for entrance screening, but it’s so much more.  It actually gives you an opportunity to see what your strengths and weaknesses might be in many career fields.  It’s pretty difficult these days to decide a career, so why not take an assessment and receive great feedback to help you in your choices.  If you are interested in the military, here’s your chance to get started.  If not, please don’t shy away.  You can use this assessment for your own personal knowledge, or you can use it to get ready for college.  Mountain Oaks will not release any information to military recruiters!!

  • Congratulations AcaDec Team!

Here are our final scores. Rose extends her gratitude to all of you who have students, taught classes and judged in Ione and in Sonora. We are all grateful!!!

Congratulations to the 2016 Mt. Oaks’ AcaDec Team for being the Calaveras County Champions with an overall score of 35,354.9 and coming in 2nd out of 5 teams!! Not only do we have a younger team than our competition, we also had to ‘bump up’ several members to compete against higher level students. Due to the ongoing effects of the Butte Fire, this team has performed beyond all of our expectations and deserve our praise!

Our team of 10 students have been studying India since last May (including workshops over the summer), have attended both a Seminar Day in Madera and a docent led trip to San Francisco’s Asian Art Museum.

Our Varsity Level is comprised of: Kiara H. who won a Gold in Art and in Music, a Silver in Language & Lit. and a Bronze in Economics, Liam T. who won a Bronze in Music, and Kulani F. who won a Silver in Speech.

Our Scholastic Level includes: Naomi E. who won a Bronze in Music, Saige P. who won Silver in Speech,  Bronze in Interview and Grace F. who won Bronzes in Math and Music. Our team includes Honors level: Conor B. who won Golds in Language & Lit. Economics, Art and Social Science; Silvers in Science, Speech and Music; and a Bronze in Math; Lawrence T. and Joe F. who both achieved personal high scores.

Our alternate was Isaiah C. who excelled in Art.

If you are not receiving these e-mails, please contact Samantha Hamilton to make sure you have a valid e-mail address on file.  It is a good idea to create a special email account that you use strictly for school - high school, college- related emails, so you do not lose important info sent which pertains to juniors and seniors.
