MINUTES Amador Steering Committee Tuesday, March 11, 2008; 4:30 p.m./Ione Site CHAIR/FACILITATOR: Anne
1. CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 4:39 pm by Anne Colman 2. ROLL CALL:
3. CONSENT AGENDA 3.1. Approval of Agenda: Motion to approve agenda with following additional items made by Tracy R., 2nd by Dianne McC: unanimous 4.2 Newsletter Deadline 7.2 CHASEE Testing 7.3 Budget Update 3.2. Approval of previous minutes: Motion by Dianne, 2nd Rose - Unanimous with addition of Pat Martin as present at meeting 3.3. Review of Action Items from Previous Meeting: 8.8: Field trip coordinator issue update at next meeting. 8.6: Water related issues, kids polled and stated they prefer the bottled water – will continue with service.
4. COMMENTS/ANNOUNCMENTS: 4.1 Ski Days (Rose): Kirkwood trip was cancelled and rescheduled for April 4, all money due by 3/13 – interested parties should call Dad in San Andreas. One remaining Bear Valley trip for the year.
5. REPORTS 5.1 Brown Academy (Anne) – The governing board approved the lease for both buildings at the Ione site, however had not yet been signed. The “Brown Academy” sign will be repainted and used since the original donor did not want it back. Also in the works is collecting building memorabilia and historical items/photos from Brown. A “walk through” of the “cabin” will be scheduled soon. Pat Martin commented on the potential need to have a small “satellite” located in the upcountry area. Interested parents/families need to contact the school to facilitate this possibility. 5.2. Technology Report – Progress in being made 5.3 Amadoropoly (Marie) – No report 5.4 Living History Day Report (Rose) – Living History Day will be Thursday, May 8 at the Kennedy Mine in Jackson. Insurance certificate info has been filed. Cost will be $10 per family and registration packet will be available online by next Monday. 5.5 Workshop Update (Anne) – The workshop budget for next year looks great. Next year’s workshop scheduling process will begin at the Next workshop planning meeting to be held at 11 am at the Ione site. 5.6 End of Year Pool Party (Rose) – Scheduled for June 4, 2008 starting at 10:30 – Detert Park in Jackson. Tentative price for swimming is $1.50.

7. OLD BUSINESS 7.1 Report on Star Testing (Anne) – Good turnout for the writing portion. Grade 2-7 will be held at Pine Grove site, 8-12 in Ione. MO will provide drivers to help get students to and from sites. PE testing for 5th, 7th and 9th grade will be held in Ione. Need to get make-up dates to Dianne for web site. Makeup testing will be held in San Andreas and/or mentors will be available to proctor make ups at other sites. 7.2 CHASEE Testing (Anne) - English portion of the testing complete – Math will be 3/12. 15 students participated and had “fun”. 7.3 Budget Update (Anne) – Current Amador preliminary site budget proposal is $204,500 - $81,000 of which, if approved will be for workshops. $122,000 is current estimate of building upgrades and repairs. A new van for the Amador site has been approved and bids are currently being accepted.
8. NEW BUSINESS 8.1. Amador Site Yearbook Volunteers: Three students have agreed to take on this project. 8.2. Amador site Spring Share Day and Potluck: Will be held Tuesday, May 27th in Pine Grove. Pat and Tracy will coordinate.
