How to Enroll in Mountain Oaks School

The steps to enrolling in Mt. Oaks School are listed below, as well as links to additional information. If you have additional questions, or to schedule attendance in an Informational forum, contact Samantha by phone (209-754-0532, ext. 258) or email. If the school is closed for the summer, leave a message at 754-0532, ext. 0, and an administrator will return your call.

Step #1

Attend the Informational Forum and ask questions.  At the end of the forum, the family will be offered our Intent to Enroll Form, Release of Information Form, Homeschool 101 Packet and a Family Questionnaire.

The family has three options at this point:

v     Fill out and leave forms with Sam following the Informational forum.

v     Take forms home and fill them out at your leisure and return them to Sam. (The waiting list is chronological based on when your form is received.)

v     Decline to complete forms.

Step #2

Complete the Homeschool 101 Packet and bring it to the Homeschool 101 meeting.  Homeschool 101 is a two-hour meeting designed to give families a better understanding of homeschooling and to help set up a successful homeschool experience.  At the end of the meeting you have two options:

v     Schedule an Admissions Intake Interview and receive an additional homeschool prep-packet to complete and bring to your Intake Interview.

v     Decline to pursue enrollment.

Step #4

The Admissions Intake Interview usually takes about one hour and is attended by the student(s), their parents/guardians and one or more representatives from Mountain Oaks. Please bring all requested materials (transcripts, shot records, copies of IEPs/504s) to the Admission Intake Interview.

Step #5

Following the Admission Intake Interview, the family and the Mountain Oaks will be given time to reflect on their educational compatibility.  The family should notify the Mountain Oaks office if they would like to proceed with enrolling.  In response to that notification, Mountain Oaks will notify the family of their decision, in writing, within 10 working days.

Step #6

Families will be contacted by the registrar to schedule an appointment to complete the registration process when an opening is available with an appropriate mentor teacher.
